Epoxy and Polyaspartic floors have long been the go-to flooring, highly demanded for its versatility and unique characteristics. From residential interiors, garages, patios, warehouses, restaurants, commercial kitchens and more.
Epoxy and Polyaspartic floors are pretty low maintenance. They don’t need much, but a daily maintenance routine of sweeping and mopping is recommended. This will remove any small particles and debris, that will help keep your floors free of scratches and reduce wear and tear.
As any other floor, if you use harsh or erosive chemicals, it is important that any spills are cleaned up as soon as possible, to avoid that they begin to erode and damage your floor permanently.
We recommend that depending on the amount of traffic your floor goes through, a bi-weekly scrubbing is done to ensure the Epoxy or Polyaspartic coating has a clean, smooth surface. Hard bristle brushes should be avoided, as they will damage your flooring.
Because Epoxy and Polyaspartic are a mixture of resins and hardeners that can be harmed with harsh chemicals, warm or hot water and Simple Green or a non-alkaline gentle cleanser; that will not strip the coating off; when needed is one of the best ways to clean your epoxy flooring. If your space is not too large, you could dilute one-third cup of dishwashing soap into four or five liters of water.
For your garage floors and patios, you can also use diluted ammonia. This does not de-gloss your floor over time and it helps maintain its anti-slip traits.
When using ammonia, you’ll want to mix it with hot water and only use approximately one-half cup of ammonia per gallon of water. This will balance the chemical impact and will be enough to ensure that scuff marks and/or stains are removed.
Most soap-based cleaners because they leave a haze that builds up over time taking away the shine.
Citric acids and vinegar because they leave streaks behind.
Bleach based cleaners, like Ajax or Comet because it can damage the floor surface making it rough and uneven and can also cause discoloration.
